Found Magazine

Found magazine, collect things that they find along their travels: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework, to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles - anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. I love this concept, it reminds me of how I collect little things for memories, and how I love people watching and gaining true insight into someones thoughts.

sOft spOt

Myself and my friend Anna have began to create a limited edition independent zine called sOft spOt. It is all about peoples soft spots for certain little things and looking at what most people would consider the mundane. check out our research blog to get a better insight ... http://softspotexploration.blogspot.com/
and our actual blog dedicated to the magazine that reflects the same ethics as the zine ... http://softspotzine.blogspot.com/
Here is the logo that we created for the magazine ...

Will keep you posted on the development!

MIXTAPE COVERS

Here are some mixtape covers I designed for my boyfriend who is a DJ based in Birmingham playing deep soulful house music - J Phunk Logistix. The tint of his image and the grid line colours will change each week with the number of the mixtape ...

WONDERLAND

I love this moodboard I have created and this trend as a whole, makes me feel like a little girl again <3 ...

This Alice and Wonderland trend has really began to reach its peak and be
re-invented in new ways. This trend shimmers to life through innocence, satin
ribbons, and the iconic blue that epitomises Alice and Wonderland. The idea of play and loosing yourself in a fantasy world are key to this trend. This trend
reflects the economic state of the credit crunch and the desire for escapism in
this crisis. Tea Parties and food show this trend also as a lifestyle fantasy, not
just fantastical garments.

ZOMBIE

A dark, edgy and horror movie zombie seems to be haunting the trend horizon ... another moodboard I have produced ...

An almost fun edge on ‘zombie’ seems to be creating this emerging trend, with key inspirations being taken from Tim Burton, it proves that fashion can take a creepy twist. This trend merges with the isolation trend we have been seeing especially in photography, the feeling of absence constructs an eerie outcome. Dark, gloomy, shadowy colours being highlighted with shocking brights, and make-up becoming over dramatic and expressive.

SOUTHERN FOLK

Another trend I have noticed, researched and produced a moodboard on is called Southern Folk ...

Main influences for this trend derive from South America. Southern American landscapes inspire the colours of ochres, clays, beiges and cactus greens mixed with blazing red, deep violet blends and vibrant splashes of colour. Silhouettes could be described as a military uniform reworked with a city attitude. Fabrics take folklore inspiration with rough looks, rustic weaves and fresh cottons.

ODE TO NATURE

This is a moodboard I have created when looking at future and current trends happening around us ...

A romantic, spiritual and poetic feel runs throughout this trend. A soft, serene
colour palette, with chalky, light, and faded colours along with more intense
mauve and pastel shades. Detailing such as draping, twisted effects, knots and
braids, the accent is on elegant ease. Fluid and vertical shapes. Fabrics will be
light and flowing, such as crepe and gauze, being worked both alone and in
layers to create a romantic mood.
